Our Initiative

The Community is working aggressively to reestablish regularly scheduled commercial air service at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport (YNG) to a hub of a major U.S. airline in the East, Midwest, or Southeast U.S..  The economic engine of the Youngstown-Warren-Sharon metropolitan area has been revving in recent years.  The combination of high tech, logistics, health care, energy, and entertainment companies growing throughout the region, joined by the increased presence of gas and oil production energy companies and the expected thousands of transient workers who will enter the region due to the Utica Shale play, punctuate the need of this effort.

What People Are Saying

  • I am confident we will have daily connecting airline service operating from the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport in the near future. We are getting closer to the daily connecting service coming to fruition at YNG as we have more and more meaningful dialogue with Network Airlines for destinations such as Washington, D.C,  Detroit and Chicago.  Acquiring the Air Service Initiative Pledges will take our daily service initiative to the next level and the Airlines will recognize our community’s commitment to sustaining this service well into the future.

  • Companies looking to invest in a region want to have the ability to move their intellectual capital – their executives and employees – into and out of the region swiftly. It is essential that the business community of the Mahoning Valley support this service with the Travel Bank initiative. Supporting it will ultimately support your company, and that is a classic win-win scenario.
